Hepsiburada Commission Rates 2026: Category by Category and the Real VAT-Inclusive Deduction
Hepsiburada commission rates 2026: approximate ranges by category, the assumption that 20% VAT is added on top of commission, what you keep on a 100 TL (VAT-excluded) sale, and how it differs from Trendyol’s VAT-inclusive model.
When looking up Hepsiburada commission rates, most sellers ask the wrong question: “What percent in which category?” Two things actually decide your cost. First, what the rate is applied to (the VAT-inclusive sale price); second, the fact that 20% VAT is added on top of the commission. If you are used to Trendyol, a critical difference awaits you here — and if you place it in your calculation incorrectly, you will see your per-item profit as higher than it really is. In this article we cover the 2026 approximate commission ranges by category, how the real VAT-inclusive deduction is derived, and roughly what stays in your pocket on a 100 TL sale, from a seller’s point of view.
How does Hepsiburada commission work?
First truth: Hepsiburada does not publish all its category commissions in a single public, fixed table. The rate that applies to your store varies by sub-category, product group, contract, and periodic campaign terms. You see the exact rate on the commission/contract screen inside Hepsiburada Satıcı Merkezi (Seller Center). The ranges in this article point you in the right direction; what your panel shows is what binds you.
The second and more critical point — where sellers coming from Trendyol go wrong most often. The model Riseluc’s tools use: on Hepsiburada the commission rate is applied to the VAT-inclusive sale price, and 20% VAT is then added on top of the resulting commission. So the commission cost you pay is not “rate × price” but 1.20 times that. This is different from Trendyol’s model: on Trendyol commission is also calculated on the VAT-inclusive sale price, but the result is already VAT-inclusive, with no separate VAT added; at the same listed rate this model deducts 20% more than Trendyol’s. Comparing the two platforms by the same percentage is therefore misleading. Hepsiburada publishes no official commission base or VAT statement; the tool assumes VAT-inclusive price × rate × 1.20 — verify the exact amount on your commission invoice.
The same 15% commission is not the same cost on both platforms. On Hepsiburada, 15% on a 240 TL (VAT-inclusive) sale is 36 TL; once 20% VAT is added, the real deduction becomes 43.20 TL. On Trendyol the same percentage is also calculated from the VAT-inclusive price, but the result already includes VAT and nothing is added on top: 36 TL. When comparing, look not at a single percentage but at the total VAT-inclusive deduction.
How is VAT-inclusive commission calculated? (step by step)
Let us use a concrete example. Suppose you sell the product for 240 TL (VAT included, 20%). The steps in the commission calculation:
- Take the base: the commission rate is applied to the whole VAT-inclusive sale price; you do not need to divide the 240 TL by the VAT factor.
- Calculate the commission: if the category rate is 15%, commission = 240 × 15% = 36 TL.
- Add the commission VAT: 36 × 20% = 7.20 TL. The real commission deduction = 36 + 7.20 = 43.20 TL (18% of the sale price).
That 7.20 TL is the item most sellers forget to include. The good news: this VAT is inside an expense invoice and you can claim it as a deduction on your return; that is, it reduces the VAT you pay at month end, so it is not entirely “lost money.” But it leaves your cash flow today, and you need to see the total deduction when you set your price. If you get stuck on the VAT-inclusive/exclusive split, you can break the amount out in seconds with the VAT calculator.
2026 category commission ranges (reference)
The table below shows approximate commission ranges by category group. It gives you an order of magnitude, not exact rates — it is normal for a category to show a different figure in your panel, and the panel wins. The general band roughly moves between 8–22%; it is at the low end for electronics and technology, and at the high end for fashion and accessories.
| Category group | Approximate commission range* |
|---|---|
| Smartphones, laptops, tablets | %6–9 |
| Televisions, game consoles, large electronics | %7–10 |
| Major appliances (refrigerator, washing machine) | %8–12 |
| Supermarket, dry goods, snacks | %10–15 |
| Small kitchen appliances (food processor, vacuum) | %12–16 |
| Hardware, hand tools, garden | %12–17 |
| Books, stationery, office | %12–16 |
| Cosmetics and personal care | %14–18 |
| Mother and baby products | %14–18 |
| Toys, hobby | %14–18 |
| Automotive accessories and care | %14–18 |
| Home textiles and decoration | %16–20 |
| Apparel (tops, bottoms, underwear) | %17–22 |
| Footwear and bags | %18–23 |
| Jewelry, accessories, watches | %18–22 |
* The ranges are derived approximately from industry compilations; the exact rate varies by category, sub-category, and your contract and must be verified in Hepsiburada Satıcı Merkezi. The percentages above are the listed rates; they are applied to the VAT-inclusive sale price, and for the real cost you pay, 20% VAT is added on top of each.
How many TL stay in your pocket on a 100 TL sale?
What matters to a seller is not the rate but the money left over. Below we show roughly what remains after three core deductions on a 100 TL VAT-excluded sale (120 TL VAT-inclusive for a product with 20% VAT). The assumptions are transparent: commission is applied to the VAT-inclusive sale price (120 TL) and 20% VAT is added on top; the 1% withholding tax is taken from the VAT-excluded amount (100 TL). Shipping, per-order service/transaction fees, product cost, returns, and advertising are not in this table — which is why we call it a “rough net.”
| Commission rate | Commission + VAT | Withholding (1%) | Left on 100 TL (VAT-excluded)* |
|---|---|---|---|
| %8 | 11,52 TL | 1,00 TL | 87,48 TL |
| %12 | 17,28 TL | 1,00 TL | 81,72 TL |
| %15 | 21,60 TL | 1,00 TL | 77,40 TL |
| %18 | 25,92 TL | 1,00 TL | 73,08 TL |
| %22 | 31,68 TL | 1,00 TL | 67,32 TL |
* Commission + VAT = 120 × rate × 1.20; left = 100 − (commission + VAT) − 1 TL withholding. Note: the “commission + VAT” column shows that the percentage you see in the panel effectively becomes 1.20 times as much, measured on the sale price. A 15% commission is really a deduction of 18% of the VAT-inclusive sale price (21.60 TL on 120 TL). Once you add shipping and the service fee to this table, what is left on a cheap product melts away fast — so you should do the real calculation in the next step, with shipping included.
How it differs from Trendyol’s model (in one sentence)
Two formulas doing the same job give two different results:
- Trendyol: commission = VAT-inclusive sale price × rate. The result is already VAT-inclusive, with no separate VAT added. For the details, see our article on whether Trendyol commission includes VAT.
- Hepsiburada: commission = VAT-inclusive sale price × rate. 20% VAT is added on top of the result; the real cost = commission × 1.20 (the tool’s assumption).
The practical conclusion: putting the two platforms’ single commission percentages side by side and declaring “Hepsiburada is cheaper/more expensive” is wrong. The correct unit of comparison is the total effective deduction per sale: commission (with VAT) + shipping + service fees + 1% withholding. Where one platform’s commission is two points lower, its shipping tariff can more than take that difference back. Our Trendyol vs. Hepsiburada article covers the other axes of this decision (traffic, operations, payout terms).
Do not forget the 1% e-commerce withholding tax
On sales made through a marketplace, the intermediary platform withholds 1% of the VAT-excluded sale amount as income tax withholding and pays it to the tax office (Law No. 7524, in force since 2025). This is not an “extra tax”; it is a prepayment offset against your income or corporate tax at year end. But it leaves your cash flow today, so you have to include it in your payout calculation. To see it with your own numbers, you can use the e-commerce withholding tax calculator.
Payment and payout: when is the money in hand?
You cannot see what the commission actually costs you in your pocket without knowing when the payment is deposited. On Hepsiburada, the sale amount is transferred to your account, after deductions, on a term tied to your contract; the exact day varies by your store contract and product group and is tracked in the panel. We do not give a made-up number of days because this value differs from seller to seller. We explained the logic of the term and its effect on cash flow in detail in our Hepsiburada payment and payout term article.
Placing commission correctly in your profit calculation
Knowing the rate is not enough; you have to place it in the calculation correctly. Four rules:
- Apply to the VAT-inclusive price, then add VAT: on Hepsiburada, apply the rate to the VAT-inclusive sale price, then add 20% VAT to the resulting commission. If you forget to add VAT you understate the commission.
- Drop the Trendyol reflex: the “no VAT on top” rule you learned on Trendyol does not hold here. When you switch platforms, switch the formula too.
- Do not forget the per-order fixed items: shipping and service/transaction fees are deducted as TL, not as a rate. On a cheap product these items can be larger than the commission.
- Spread returns and advertising across each sale: the return rate takes an invisible share of every sale’s profit.
Instead of applying these rules by hand on every product, enter your price and category into the Hepsiburada commission calculator: the commission comes out VAT-inclusive, and you see your rough net together with withholding tax. If you want the full profit with product cost, shipping, and returns, the Hepsiburada profit calculator subtracts all deductions on a single screen.
Three frequently asked questions
Is VAT really added to Hepsiburada commission?
According to the model Riseluc’s tools use, yes: commission is applied to the VAT-inclusive sale price, 20% VAT is added to the result, and the commission invoice is issued with this VAT-inclusive amount. Hepsiburada publishes no official statement on this; verify the exact amount on your commission invoice. You can claim the VAT on the invoice as a deduction on your return, but the total deducted from your payout is the VAT-inclusive figure.
If there is a return, does the commission come back?
When the return is completed, the commission is reflected as a refund in the relevant statement/deduction record. But the outbound-return shipping and packaging cost do not come back in most scenarios — a return zeroes out the commission but not the cost. Do not forget to place this difference in your profit calculation.
Where do I see my own exact rate?
From the commission/contract screen in Hepsiburada Satıcı Merkezi and from your actual deduction records. If the two do not match, there is either a periodic commission support or a difference worth querying. The ranges in this article only point you in a direction.
Knowing the rate is not enough — you have to track it
Commission rates are updated from time to time, category rules change during campaigns, and you only see the actual deduction in the deduction records. Instead of memorizing the table, recalculate your net profit with the calculator whenever price, category, or cost changes, and check the breakdown line by line. Connect your Hepsiburada store and Riseluc does this tracking for you: it pulls your orders and finance transactions, subtracts the commission, shipping and other deductions that its financial transactions itemise, and derives an estimated net profit per product — so you can see where the money is melting without reworking the table every time. The over-deduction alert and the objection draft are not available on Hepsiburada: its deduction records do not expose a per-product commission rate. Those two steps run on Trendyol stores, where the settlement breakdown is itemized.
Source and update note
The commission rates and table in this article are not a binding list offered as a single tariff for everyone; they are standard directional ranges and can vary by sub-category, campaign terms, and a store’s own contract — they do not replace the rate in your contract. You see the exact commission applied to you on the commission/contract screen inside Hepsiburada Satıcı Merkezi — that is what binds you. When price, category, or cost changes, recalculate your net profit with the Hepsiburada commission calculator.
